Among the challenges of being a modern Mom, is the amount of pressure to appear as you have it all under control. Stressing over the day to day routine caring for the little ones and putting dinner on the table after a full day at work or being a homemaker with mad skills. The routine seems to mount when carpooling, errands, and appointments have to be kept. The idea of walking out the door half-groomed seems miraculous and the vision of being "dolled up" is a far stretch unless the babysitter arrives or Grandma & Grandpa come to the rescue. As a result, carving out the mandatory "Me Time" in combination to simplifying one's beauty routine, can bring about pure bliss. I have come to accept that I can't blast Florence+The Machine in my bathroom and lock myself up for hours sorting through eyeshadow palettes or mixing up lipsticks from their tubes with spatulas and concocting the perfect coral-red shade. Here are 6 steps that I swear by:
1) Cleanse face with a mild facial soap and follow with Lancome's Tonique Eclat Clarifying Exfoliating Toner, finishing with non-comedogenic moisturizer like HydraMax by Chanel.
2) Curl lashes before adding 2 -3 coats of my favorite mascara, Chanel & Maybelline (found in every Makeup Artist's kit) layered cleaning up smudges with a wet q-tip.
3) Brushing up eyebrows with a transparent brow gel and getting brows threaded every 6 weeks.
4) Bronzer on the face is perfect to mimic a glow. My selects are Guerlian Terracotta (kind of a splurge) so if your trying to stay in budget try L'Oreal Glam Bronze Dual Pressed Powder applied in a shape of the number 3 left to right, add a touch of blush to give the look of fertility.
5) Apply a nude lipstick Myth by MAC or Chelsea Girls by Nars
6) Add a spritz of a perfume changing things up during seasons. During Winter, I love Diptyque Paris Fragrances. In the Suummertime try Chantecaille Frangrances, but for the Fall I swear by Tocca or Creed 's line.
